![]() His father, Rodney, was diagnosed with lung cancer caused by exposure to asbestos and in 2010 killed himself at home, leaving an inheritance of 457,000 Australian dollars ($339,000) to Tarrant. "The general population doesn't know what's happening, and it doesn't even know that it doesn't know.He put on a lot of weight as a teenager before starting to exercise compulsively at gyms and going on a diet, losing about 50 kilograms (110 pounds). "Great minds discuss ideas average minds discuss events small minds discuss people." "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." Online Internet Tactics: Gatekeeping, Disinformation, Forum Sliding, and More! These rules will be updated as necessary. People from all backgrounds, beliefs, and political parties come here to post! Note that if you break the site-wide rules we will have no choice but to remove the post/comment. All views are welcome! This is NOT a partisan sub! In fact, one of my favorite things about this sub is that political views have not turned it into an extremely right wing/left wing sub - it is a sub for open discussion of theories. While this probably won't entirely eliminate forum sliding, we hope it will help marginalize the effects of the practice. This is intended to prevent high-volume posters from drowning out users that only post occasionally. In order to try and help all users have an equal voice, we limit users to a maximum of 3 submittals per day.Users that post/comment with iniquitous intentions will be subject to warnings and/or a ban. Why are you posting? What is your purpose? What do you want people to get out of what you post? Please be willing to ask yourself these questions before you make posts - users and mods can tell when somebody is posting for nefarious purposes. We evaluate posts and comments by the intention behind the post. The majority of banning occurs because TMOR users cannot follow rules of collegial discussion, even with their first post here. TMOR users can come here, but they must be willing to work within the rules of collegial discussion. Often, their post history indicates they are TMOR users or have a clear agenda. When somebody violates collegial/socratic discussion, we look into their post history for similar themes. We will not immediately ban Topminds users unless they violate a rule (which most often they do). Though it is not perfect, it has been working thus far. Collegial discussion serves as a filter to eliminate shilling on this sub. Though there is no foolproof way to identify a shill, it is obvious when a person refuses to open their mind to others in discussion. We try to make sure every report gets viewed by at least two mods.Ī shill has an agenda, and they are not willing to learn or listen to anyone. ![]() Instead, report them and we'll handle it.
